Model

Each individual "encodes" his or her message. That is, the content of the message can be portrayed in a number of different ways. In turn, each person must "decode" the incoming messages. This encoding/decoding refers to the interpretation of the content. Have you ever experienced difficulty in expressing your message? Have you ever had difficulty understanding what someone else is trying to communicate? Words sometimes do not do justice to the intended meaning.

Problems in encoding and decoding may lead to "noise" in the channel.
