This series of modules offers detailed and specific information on the Care Area of Assessments (CAAs), Scheduling, and Care Planning.

Audience

This training is designed for long-term care professionals working with MDS 3.0 (nursing staff, MDS coordinators, social work, activities staff, therapy staff, nutrition and dietary staff) as well as facility administrator staff who have completed the MDS 3.0: An Introduction series or have comparable experience.

Learning Outcome

As a result of this activity, learners will expand their knowledge and competence in Care Area of Assessments and Care Planning.

Objectives

By the end of this module you will be able to

  1. Describe the steps of the Care Area Assessment (CAA) process
  2. Explain the purpose of a care plan
  3. Describe the purpose of the "mega rule" associated with care planning
